Review PFGK Conference 2018, Munich

3D PluraView in use for science

The 7th to 9th of March 2018 have been affected at the Technical University of Munich by Photogrammetry – Remote Sensing – Geoinformatics – Cartography (PFGK), according to the motto: Germany 3D – nationwide, current and official. The conference is also the 66th German Cartography Congress of the DGfK, the 5th Munich GI Round of the RT GIS and the 38th Scientific and Technical Annual Meeting of the DGPF.

The visitors expected over 100 lectures and presentations, including three high-profile keynotes by Prof. Christian Stiller of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), astronaut and today’s ESA coordinator, international agencies Thomas Reiter and geographer Michael Goodchild, one of the fathers of modern GIS -Technology. But also scientific lectures, numerous user forums and a high practical relevance were on the program.

Schneider Digital also uses this conference to present the innovative 3D PluraView passive 3D stereo monitor for use in GIS and geoinformatics:
The new monitor generation of the 3D PluraView is available in two housing models, three resolutions (Full HD, 2.5K, 4K) as well as up to a color depth of 10 bits. The 3D PluraView is the reference of passive 3D stereo monitors for all applications in GIS as well as photogrammetry and successor of the set Planar Beamsplitter monitor series.

 

The many trade visitors, students and professors showed great interest and took the opportunity to get to know all the features and special highlights of the new 3D PluraView live in practice.
